Training Exercise Scheduled at OLF Coupeville

Naval Air Station (NAS) Whidbey Island Emergency Services and their Central Whidbey counterpart will conduct a joint emergency training exercise at the Outlying Landing Field (OLF) in Coupeville between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2022,
Naval Air Station (NAS) Whidbey Island Emergency Services and their Central Whidbey counterpart will conduct a joint emergency training exercise at the Outlying Landing Field (OLF) in Coupeville between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2022,
 
The exercise will assess mutual aid agreements and response efforts to an aircraft mishap at the OLF.
 
Participating units include personnel from Navy Region Northwest Fire & Emergency Services, NAS Whidbey Island Security Forces and other Emergency Operations Center personnel. They will be joined by Whidbey Health and Central Whidbey Fire and Rescue.
 
Local residents should expect to see activities associated with emergency services activities to include participation by the base’s helicopter Search and Rescue unit.
 
The Navy conducts these types of security exercises at installations across the world to ensure readiness and verify response procedures.
