Drinking Water Testing for Lead in Priority Area

The Navy tests drinking water for lead in priority areas, such as Child Development Centers and schools at Navy installations. This testing is recommended by EPA in schools and day care centers, but is not required. The Navy has adopted a policy to perform testing in the interest of the health and welfare of the children using its facilities.

Naval Station Everett is taking a proactive approach to test drinking water for lead at the base Childcare Development Center. The most recent testing was completed October-November 2025. The previous round of sampling occurred in 2022. Results from all water intended for consumption, to include drinking water and water intended for cooking or washing, is at or below the Navy lead screening level of 10 parts per billion (ppb). Notification of the results are disseminated to parents, staff, and other interested stakeholders and is available here:
