NBK Base Conditions Status

For the current operating status of Naval Base Kitsap call: (360) 315-4636 or (888) 256-6100

For the current operating status of tenant commands onboard NBK, call the respective number below. If you do not see your command listed, contact your supervisor or Command Duty Officer.

PSNS/IMF (NBK-Bremerton): (866) 291-1160
Naval Hospital Bremerton: (360) 475-5777
NUWC Division Keyport: (360) 396-2553
SWFPAC: (877) 340-7926
Trident Refit Facility: (360) 315-4321

Natural and man-made events can impact the normal operations of NBK. Day to day, the base will fall into one of three categories:

1. Open (regular operations): Business as usual.
2. Mission Essential Personnel Only: Check with your leadership to ensure this applies to you. CRITICAL: If conditions are dangerous at your home, use good judgement and contact your supervisor. Leadership doesn’t want anyone putting themselves at risk via their commute.
3. Base is closed: All personnel should stay home.

Note: Full base closures are rare. We more often see an initial declaration for Mission Essential Personnel Only followed by a return to Normal Operations later in the day.

Other ways to stay up to date on base weather conditions and status:
Sign up for AtHoc notices by following these instructions or contacting your command emergency management officer.
Follow the NBK and NavyLife Facebook pages for up-to-date information.
Call your chain of command.

Be safe in all things and remember that communication with supervisors is critical during emergency situations.
