Implementation of the REAL ID Act begins May 7, 2025. That day, and any day after that, anyone 18 years and older that plans to visit certain Federal facilities or fly domestically will need a REAL ID or another acceptable form of identification to enter U.S. military bases or board federally regulated commercial aircraft.
Northwest Navy bases will participate in an annual anti-terrorism force protection exercise called Exercise Citadel Shield-Solid Curtain 2025 (CS/SC 25) February 3-14. Measures are being taken to minimize disruptions within local communities and to normal base operations, but there may be times when the exercise causes increased traffic around bases or delays in base access due to temporary gate closures or other security-related activities.
Sailors assigned to U.S. Navy Littoral Combat Ship USS Montgomery (LCS 8) is scheduled to arrive in Portland to participate in annual Rose Festival activities, June 5-9.
