Chaplain Core Vision:

Mission

The overarching purpose of the Navy Chaplain Corps, our 'why', is to build the Spiritual Readiness of warfighters and their families for the rigors of military service. In an era of rapid change and evolving threats, the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard need Sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen who are "agile and adaptive. "Spiritual Readiness contributes to making the force and families more agile and adaptive, strong and resilient for the challenges we face.
The delivery of Religious Ministry is an inherently cooperative effort that not only includes Chaplains and Religious Program Specialists, but also civilian, military volunteers, and especially command triads.

Green Ribbon Program

🎗️ Be the Difference: Join the Green Ribbon Team!

Are you passionate about looking out for your shipmates and fostering a stronger, more resilient force? Then the Green Ribbon Program (GRP) is where you belong! The GRP is our very own base-wide mental health network at NAS Whidbey Island, created to build a community that champions mental well-being for every sailor. We are a dedicated team, trained to be the first line of support, ensuring that help is always within reach.
This program is vital because it transforms the way we approach mental health. Instead of scattered, individual efforts, we've created a powerful, unified network. As a member, you'll wear the "Green Ribbon" patch, a visible symbol that tells sailors you're a safe person to approach for support. You'll receive valuable training in suicide prevention, stress management, and self-care, empowering you to make a direct, positive impact in your unit. By joining us, you'll help crush the stigma around seeking help and become a crucial part of a team dedicated to the safety and well-being of our entire community.
Ready to step up and be a beacon of support for your peers? Let's talk about how you can join the Green Ribbon Program.

Resources

Sometimes it may be uncomfortable talking to a chaplain. Our mission is to help you find the best resource available to meet . The below are just a few resources that many find useful:

Fleet and Family Readiness

Fleet and Family Readiness is your source for information on Navy life in the Pacific Northwest. Find information on Navy events, entertainment, fitness, sports, Fleet & Family Support Programs, child care, youth & teen programs, outdoor recreation, single sailor activities, housing, dining, Navy Gateway Inns & Suites, and much more.

Military One Source

Military OneSource is a free service provided by the Department of War to service members and their families to help with a broad range of concerns including money management, spouse employment and education, parenting and child care, relocation, deployment, reunion, and the particular concerns of families with special-needs members. They can also include more complex issues like relationships, stress, and grief. Services are available 24 hours a day — by telephone with professionally trained consultants and online. Many Military OneSource staff members have military experience (veterans, spouses, Guardsmen, Reservists), and all receive ongoing training on military matters and military lifestyle. The program can be especially helpful to service members and their families who live at a distance from installations.

Navy Marine Corps Relief Society

We are a private, non-profit, volunteer, service organization. As a Center of Excellence, we are committed to ensure that all available resources are used to assist personnel of the Naval Services - active, retired, and their eligible family members - to achieve financial self-sufficiency and find solutions to emergency needs
