Stop The Bleed

Stop The Bleed is an official program of the U.S. Department of Defense. It is designed to train and equip the public to be able to treat traumatic injuries involving life threatening bleeding until first responders arrive. It is based on lessons learned by the Department of Defense during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan on how to best control severe bleeding.
Why is Stop the Bleed important?
Learning to stop the bleed is a lifesaving skill. The number 1 cause of preventable death after injury is bleeding. With 3 quick actions, you can be trained and empowered to save a life.
The next class will be held on July 16, 2025, at Central Whidbey Sportsmen’s Association in Coupeville from 1900-2100.

Anyone interested in attending needs to contact Dr. Sigrid A. Krumme-Johnson to register at docerahealth@gmail.com or (360)969-3678.

Are you struggling to maintain honor in every area of your life? Do you conduct your work with honor? Maintain your relationships with honor? Drive with honor? Grocery shop with honor?
Yes – we can do all things with honor, but it can be easy to fall into dishonorable patterns of life, thoughts, or actions to the point where you don’t feel like yourself anymore. I encourage you to strengthen your spiritual readiness to accomplish every mission with honor.

LIGHT IT: Leave exterior residence lights on at night or ulitize motion detecting lights.

As the weather warms up and outdoor activities increase, it's important to stay vigilant about safety. Follow these crime prevention tips to keep yourself, your home, and your belongings secure this spring.

Lock doors and windows – Warmer weather means more open windows. Always lock them when leaving home.

Vehicle Safety

Never leave valuables in plain sight – Purses, electronics, and bags attract thieves. Store items in the trunk.

Musicians Wanted

NASWI has two community music groups located close to the base: the SeaNotes Big Band and the All-Island Community Band.
Both groups play periodically for local events.  Rehearsals for both groups are weekly.  The SeaNotes rehearse on Monday nights and the All-Island Community Band rehearses on Thursday nights.
Both groups are always looking for musicians!
There is also a new group being formed in Oak Harbor called the Whidbey Chamber Orchestra.  They really need more string players!
