EFMP ADAPTIVE KAYAKING DAY

Get ready for an unforgettable experience!  The Exceptional Family Member Program has partnered with Outdoors for All to bring adaptive kayaking fun to the NAS Whidbey Island community. Trained staff will be on site to help guide participants on the water, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Open to ages 7 and up, this is a fantastic opportunity for families to learn while staying safe and having a good time. Don't miss out on the adventure! The event will take place on Saturday, September 19, from noon to 4 p.m. at the beautiful Cranberry Lake in the Deception Pass State Park. PARENTING COURSE

EVERY WEDNESDAY FOR 6 WEEKS, STARTING SEPTEMBER 2 | 10 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. | NOR’WESTER
Parenting doesn’t come with a manual, but we’re here to help! The Fleet & Family Support Center will be offering a 6-week parenting course designed for parents and caregivers of children of all ages. Led by our staff Child Counselor, each session will focus on advice and guidance to help you build a strong, healthy relationship within your family. It’s also a great opportunity to connect with other parents in a supportive, judgment-free space. The course is open to all parents and caregivers, regardless of experience or your child’s age. Classes will be held every Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for six weeks.

Do you want to reduce your childcare fees? WA State DCYF may be able to help you. Nas Whidbey Island's Child & Youth Program is now a Washington State Department of Children, Youth And Families (DCYF) Provider. It’s as easy as 1-2-3! 1.) QUALIFY: Take the test at https://dcyf.wa.gov/childcare or call 844-626-8687. Help is available in multiple languages via phone. 2.) APPLY: Apply either online or by phone. 3.) PERSONAL PROPERTY OFFICE WALK-INS ACCEPTED!

An important update: the Personal Property office in the Nor’Wester (BLDG. 2556) will be taking walk-ins from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. After 10:30 a.m., service members will need to contact a counselor and set up an appointment. Island Transit is providing fare-free transportation to NAS Whidbey Island to allow for ease of travel by members of our military community. The routes service both Ault Field and Seaplane Base, and even offer drop-off locations to connect with public transportation in Skagit County.
