Director, Navy Band Northwest

Lieutenant David Drescher


Lt. David Drescher, a native of Roselawn, Indiana, enlisted in the Navy in 2008 and upon completing Musician “A” School, reported to Seventh Fleet Band in Yokosuka, Japan.  Lt. Drescher’s subsequent tours include U.S. Fleet Forces Band and Navy Band Great Lakes.

He earned his commission as a bandmaster through the Limited Duty Officer program and reported to his first assignment as Staff and Concert/Ceremonial Band Department Head for the United States Navy Band, Washington, D.C. 

Lt. Drescher attended Indiana State University and holds a Bachelor of Music Education and a master’s degree in Saxophone Performance.

His military decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards).

Senior Chief Musician Justin C. Gutierrez Glenn

 

Senior Chief Glenn, a native of Chino Hills, California enlisted in the United States Navy in September of 1999 and attended Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Illinois. Upon graduation of Recruit Training, he attended Musician ‘A’ School in Virginia Beach, Virginia and later reported to Navy Band Great Lakes, Illinois where he served as Saxophone and Clarinet Instrumentalist.

Senior Chief Glenn transferred to the Inactive Ready Reserve in September of 2003 and returned to active duty in April of 2006 and served as Saxophone Instrumentalist, Clarinet Instrumentalist and Vocalist at Navy Band Great Lakes and transferred to Navy Band Southeast in June of 2010, serving as Unit Leader. In June of 2013, He was transferred to Navy Band Great Lakes where he served as Saxophone Instrumentalist, Clarinet Instrumentalist, Vocalist and Drum Major for the Parade Band. In June of 2016, Senior Chief Glenn transferred to U.S. 7th Fleet Band, Yokosuka Japan where he served as Leading Petty Officer and Unit Leader for multiple ensembles.

From September 2018 to June of 2019, Senior Chief Glenn attended the Unit Leader Course at the School of Music in Virginia Beach, Virginia and was selected to Chief Petty Officer. Upon graduation, he reported to the U.S. 7th Fleet Band in Yokosuka, Japan where he served as Leading Chief Petty Officer and Chief Petty Officer in charge of numerous ensembles. In addition, he earned the designation as Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist. Following his successful tour at U. S. 7th Fleet Band, he returned to Musician ‘C’ school for instruction at the Senior Musician Course from April 2021 to June 2021.

Senior Chief Glenn served at U. S. Pacific Fleet Band from June 2021 to November 2025, where he was promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer. Throughout his tour he served as Leading Chief Petty Officer, Assistant Director and Senior Enlisted Leader.

He is currently serving as Senior Enlisted Leader and Assistant Director for Navy Band Northwest. He is a graduate of the Navy’s Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 239 (Gold group). His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6 awards) and numerous unit and campaign decorations.
